    Description
PLEASE REVIEW ALL OF THE IMAGES BELOW
Rare firemen's ribbon from the 1888 Jamestown NY fire parade.
Id'd with image of H.L. Phillips as the "Assistant Chief Engineer JFD."
Found to be Hurlburt Lloyd Phillips (1856-1903) longtime Jamestown resident.
Most remembered as the President of the Jamestown Lounge Company (see photo).
I have uploaded several news clippings concerning the firemen's parade of 1888,
as well as the appointment of Phillips to assistant position, and his obit in 1903.
These research items are for your review only and NOT included with the sale of the ribbon.
The ribbon is in good used condition and measures 3-1/2 x 8.
All tassels are intact on the bottom and a very old pushpin is on the top gold border.
I believe there was originally two tassels hanging from the red silk piece at the top, but not sure.
The one on the left may be missing.
Overall a fine Jamestown NY historical item.
