YOU ARE PURCHASING 5 PAIR OF REPRODUCTION AFX FRONT RIMS AND 5 PAIR OF AFX REPRODUCTION REAR RIMS.
AFX Front Wheel:
These new AFX front wheels are molded in color in the USA from ABS plastic.
These are stock replacements for the original Aurora AFX front wheels and can be used on all Aurora AFX and AFX MagnaTraction chassis.
They can also be used on all Johnny Lightning and Auto World X-Traction chassis.
These wheels follow as closely as possible the dimensions of the original Aurora wheels.
Please read the notes below.
Note: If so desired, ABS plastic can be painted and/or chromed.
Note: Most original Aurora AFX front wheels were designed so one wheel spun freely on the axle while the other was press fit.
This meant one wheel in a pair had an oversized axle hole.
These wheels come in only one size and are designed to be press fit onto the axle.
In order to get one wheel to spin freely on the axle, you will need to open the axle hole slightly.
If desired or preferred both wheels can be press fit onto a proper sized axle since these wheels use the smaller axle hole size.
Note: Aurora used two different axle sizes for the AFX and Magna-Traction chassis.
Original AFX used mostly a .040" axle while most Magna-Traction chassis used a .047" axle.
Johnny Lightning and Auto World X-Tractions use the larger .047" axle.
These wheels are made to be press fit onto a .040" axle.
Making the wheels fit the smallest axle allows them to also work with the larger axle.
When using the larger .047" axle, the hole will need to be opened to accommodate the larger axle.
AFX front wheels, like the Super MagnaTraction and G-Plus front wheels, have a raised ridge in the center.
In fact, the tire area of the AFX and G-Plus front are identical.
Some original tires covered the entire wheel and had a groove inside the tire which fit over the ridge.
Other tires only covered the outside half of the wheel.
When using only the outer half of the wheel, inexpensive O-Rings can be used.
If desired, O-Rings could be used on both the inside and outside half of the wheel.
Note: While every attempt was made to use the same dimensions as original Aurora wheels, these have a slightly wider center ridge than the originals.
Despite this slight difference, tires made for the original Aurora wheels fit without modification.
These wheels are designed with a unique six-spoke pattern.
Other replacement wheels are available with this same pattern, including AFX, Super MagnaTraction and G-Plus wheels.
This allows the wheels to be used in any matching combination.

AFX Rear Wheel:
These new AFX rear wheels are molded in color in the USA from ABS plastic.
These are stock replacements for the original Aurora AFX rear wheels and can be used on all Aurora AFX, AFX MagnaTraction, Super MagnaTraction (including variations) and G-Plus chassis.
They can also be used on all Johnny Lightning and Auto World X-Tractions which use the standard .0625" axle.
These wheels follow as closely as possible the dimensions of the original Aurora wheels and use the long Thunderjet or G-Plus axle (see notes below).
Note: If so desired, ABS plastic can be painted and/or chromed.
Note:
These wheels can also be used on the Aurora G-Plus chassis.
The stock Aurora G-Plus used a wider tire than the AFX and therefore the wheel was wider.
Replacing G-Plus rear wheels with AFX rear wheels will allow AFX size tires to be used instead of the wider G-Plus tire.
The only significant dimensional difference between the AFX and G-Plus rear wheel is the increased width of the tire area on the G-Plus wheel and therefore an increase in the overall width.
