    Description

This 3 1/2" white celluloid dog resembles a Pug. He has jointed legs, painted bulging eyes, long floppy ears, and a straight short tail. He has molded skin folds on his neck and legs and detailed paw nails. He sits upright on his back legs and can hold other poses. He has an American Viscoloid Company mark, "USA" with an intertwined "VCo", on his rear. The company began manufacturing celluloid products in 1901, and Roly toys around 1914 until the use of celluloid for toys was banned in America in the 1940's (Doll Reference).
