Background: My father was a well-known numismatist, who had professional interest in ancient coins as well as personal interest in antiquities and unusual currency. He knew personally most if not all of the dealers, both European and U.S. and attended their auctions, and therefore, knew the authors of most of the catalogs that I am offering here (Schulman, Malter, agents at Bank Leu etc) - and through him, I met them, too. Because of my interest in "odd and curious" and "primitive money" collections, as well as antiquities, ethnographic items and "ancients"...I naturally begged him to put aside and 'save' all the relevant catalogs for me....and in such way, acquired numerous catalogs and books related to these objects, because even though most were devoted to ancient coins, almost every sales catalog also included sections devoted to non-numismatic ancient items of the same general period whether it be glassware, ceramics, jewelry or related collectibles/articles of culture (keys, oil lamps, statuary, religious objects etc) And if you are serious about collecting, you know there is no better way to educate yourself and develop an "eye" than to study auction catalogs! I began my collecting in this field in the 1950s when I was a teenager, and the dates of my catalogs reflect that...going back to the 1960s. Now, because I am selling my collections, it's time to find new homes for the books and catalogs, as well. These catalogs are a rare storehouse of valuable information....trust me!
Shipping to all US locations (no APO addresses, I regret) and overseas at cost. Books by media mail, catalogs first class or priority mail - I will combine items when possible for lower shipping costs. If you prefer other than USPS service, contact me for add'l costs.
Note for overseas bidders: paper is heavy :)
Payment is by Paypal, and due within 3 days of auction close; if you can't meet that time frame you must communicate with me or a non-payment claim will be filed automatically. 100% feedback and hundreds of satisfied customers, so bid and buy in confidence!
